“Compile Error in Hidden Module: MTLib" message in Microsoft Office after installing MathType

Issue

If you are running a non-English version of OS X, you may receive a "Compile Error in hidden module: MTLib" error message when using the MathType Commands in either application.

Reason

A Compile Error occurs if the Mac OS decimal separator character is not '.', which may be the case in non-English versions of OS X.

Solution

To correct this problem, update to the latest version of MathType for the Mac. You can find out about the current version here. If you still experience problems after upgrading, please email our technical support staff for assistance.
