Copy and paste or drag and drop from MathType to Promethean ActivInspire produces blank placeholders

Issue:

Equations inserted by drag and drop or copy and paste from an open MathType window into the ActivInspire flipchart may on occasion result in empty placeholders.

Reason:

ActivInspire uses MathML data to create bitmap images that are then placed into the ActivInspire flipchart. There is an issue with some MathML translators that affect moving equations into ActivInspire that occasionally result in empty placeholders.

Solution:                     

We have created a set of translators that replace some that were installed with MathType version 6.6. They have been modified such that they resolve this problem. Follow the instructions below to download and install them.

1. Exit MathType
   • Note: The MathType Server may still be running. Look to the System tray (Lower right) and locate the blue Sigma. Right click it and choose exit.
2. Click this link to download the zip file to your desktop.
3. Expand the Zip archive to reveal the translator files.
4. Copy all of the new translator files to C:\Program Files\MathType\Translators\
   When prompted, replace the existing files of the same names.
5. Proceed with your work as normal.
